OVERVIEW
Osteoid osteomas are benign, painful osteogenic tumors of small size (<2 cm) with limited or no growth potential. Grossly, they are composed of a small “nidus,” measuring from a few millimeters to 1.5 to 2 cm, which exhibits various portions of calcification and is surrounded by reactive sclerosis and periosteal reaction.
