OVERVIEW
Neonatal brachial plexus palsy continues to occur despite improvements in obstetric care. Recent research and published studies have focused on early and accurate diagnosis and a more precise prediction of outcome based on timing of muscle recovery. Reliable outcome measurements allow a better assessment of the natural history and the effect of various interventions. The precise surgical treatment algorithm to provide the best functional outcome is still evolving.
